I decided to go with Beach Bash. I'm also purchasing Gospel Light's Son Surf Beach Bash curriculum (if you click on that link it will take you to the main website). It is a VBS curriculum so I will obviously have to adapt it and lengthen it for the whole summer but I'm excited because it looks like a great theme.
I decided to use their five daily themes as my five weekly themes - since we have five weeks of camp. So the weeks will be: Meet up with Jesus, Look up to Jesus, Join up with Jesus, Open up to Jesus, Fire up for Jesus.
Normally our camp is six weeks long but as you might have noticed if your camp is in the Toronto District School Board, the school year is going really late this year. So in order to fit in a week of staff training and finish clean up time at the end of the summer...we had to shorten camp to 5 weeks this summer.
Not to fret if you are a camp senda kid or parent - because this year we added a week of Jr. High Camp...so we are still having the same amount of camp. It just wasn't possible to have training, 6 weeks of day camp, Jr. High Camp, and clean up week. But it all works out.
So I decided to have a different theme for the Jr. High Camp. The theme I decided on is Reality TV: Reality Check. I'm super excited because I think it will be awesome. I want to make it an ultimate, extreme fun week for the 11-15 year olds.
